I No Longer Identify as a Christian: My Awakening as an Israelite

Introduction

For much of my life, I carried the title Christian. It shaped how I worshipped, how I identified myself, and how others saw me. But over time, questions rose in my spirit—questions about truth, history, and identity.

Through prayer, study, and reflection, I experienced something powerful: an awakening. Today, I no longer identify as a Christian. I know who I am—I am an Israelite.

Why I No Longer Identify as a Christian

Christianity, as we know it today, has been shaped by councils, traditions, and cultural influences that often stray from the original teachings of scripture.

The Bible shows us that the disciples didn’t call themselves Christians. That label was first placed on them in Antioch (Acts 11:26). Over time, Christianity absorbed practices and holidays not rooted in God’s Word.

I began to realize my faith was tied more to man-made traditions than to the commandments of the Most High. As Yahawashi (Jesus) said:

“Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”

(Mark 7:7, KJV)

My Awakening to Israelite Identity

The Bible describes a chosen people—the Israelites—who would be scattered across nations for disobedience (Deuteronomy 28:64). As I studied these passages, I saw my people’s history reflected: slavery, oppression, and loss of identity.

The curses matched our past, but so did the promises of restoration:

“And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel…” (Ezekiel 37:22) “…to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises.” (Romans 9:4)

This awakening was not about joining a new religion, but about recognizing my true identity in scripture.

Living as an Israelite

Being awakened to my identity means living with both freedom and responsibility.

Keeping God’s commandments (Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 6:25) Honoring the Sabbaths and Feast Days (Leviticus 23) Walking in repentance through Yahawashi (John 14:6) Studying history and prophecy with open eyes

This is not religion—it is covenant. It is a way of life rooted in truth, heritage, and obedience.

Conclusion

Letting go of the “Christian” label was not easy, but it was necessary. My awakening has brought me clarity, peace, and a closer walk with the Most High.

I no longer see myself through the lens of religion. I see myself through the covenant, the promises, and the truth of scripture.

I am awakened.

I am an Israelite.
