When reverence is replaced by entertainment and truth by compromise, itโs time to examine our hearts. The MOST HIGH is not mocked!
My heart is heavy watching some of the things taking place in the name of God today. What troubles me most isnโt just what religious leaders are doing, but how easily people applaud, celebrate, and accept things simply because someone stands behind a pulpit and declares, โItโs Godโs will.โ
But is it HIS will, or have we become comfortable making HIS Word fit OUR desires?
We are living in a time when entertainment is replacing reverence, popularity is replacing sound doctrine, and people are becoming more concerned with pleasing the congregation than pleasing the MOST HIGH.
The Apostle Paul warned Timothy that a time would come when people would no longer endure sound doctrine, but would seek teachers who tell them what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3โ4)
And Ecclesiastes 12:14 reminds us:
โFor God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.โ
That Scripture should humble EVERY ONE OF US!
I see troubling events circulating on social media, and while I cannot declare that someoneโs tragedy is Godโs judgment, I do believe they should cause us to reflect on how seriously we take His Word.
We must stop confusing a crowded church with Godโs approval, a charismatic preacher with a righteous teacher, and religious performances with genuine worship.
The MOST HIGH is not looking for a performance. He desires obedience, truth, humility, and reverence.
And before we point fingers at anyone else, we must examine ourselves.
Are we following HIS commandments, or simply following traditions and personalities?
Are we seeking HIS truth, or only the messages that make us comfortable?
Ecclesiastes 12:13 says it plainly: โFear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.โ
May we never become so comfortable with religion that we lose our reverence for the ONE we claim to serve.
Not everything done in the name of God is done according to the will of God.
๐๐พ Let us return to the WORD, test what we are taught, and walk in truth.
