When Conviction Speaks…Will We Listen?

When Conviction Speaks…Will We Listen?

Today, as I reflected on Isaiah 58:13–14, one phrase kept echoing in my spirit:

”…doing thy pleasure on My holy day…”

For a long time, I wondered what “my own pleasure” really meant.

Was Yahawah only talking about sinful things?

Or was He asking me something much deeper?

Recently, I found myself wrestling with my own heart.

This Sabbath fell on the Fourth of July. Since coming into a deeper understanding of Scripture, I no longer participate in that holiday because I believe my worship and allegiance belong to Yahawah alone.

Yet I found myself trying to justify my actions.

“My son is doing the grilling.”

“I’m not really celebrating.”

“I’m just preparing the food.”

The more I thought about it afterward, the more I realized something:

I wasn’t looking for truth…I was looking for permission.

Sometimes our greatest struggle isn’t with the commandment.

It’s with the conversation we have inside ourselves after conviction has already spoken.

Yahawah lovingly reminded me that the question isn’t simply:

“Is this allowed?”

The greater question is:

“Does this honor Me?”

That simple shift has changed the way I look at the Sabbath.

Instead of asking what I can fit into His holy day…

I want to ask,

“Father, how can I make this day fully Yours?”

🤎 From the Heart of FaYah

“Conviction is one of Yahawah’s greatest gifts. It is His loving invitation to leave behind what is merely acceptable and step into what is pleasing to Him.”

FaYah

“If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day… then shalt thou delight thyself in Yahawah…”

— Isaiah 58:13–14

May we all continue growing in wisdom, humility, and obedience as Yahawah teaches us one Sabbath at a time.

Shabbat Shalom. 🤎
